Finding the right school is one of the most important gifts you can give your child. But it’s a task that takes a lot of time! Our aim in the Bush Admissions Office is twofold:
- to make the application process as easy and transparent as possible, and
- to explain and share our school to the greatest extent possible, so that if your child receives an offer of admission, you’ll know whether we are the right place for your child and your family.
Founded in 1924 by Helen Bush, The Bush School has remained true to her vision -to spark in students a passion for learning, accomplishment, and contribution to community. Success for our students extends to their entire lives, both in the classroom and beyond. We believe that it is just as important to graduate fine human beings as it is to graduate fine scholars.
Since 2000 under the leadership of Frank Magusin, Head of School, The Bush School has focused our resources on educational program development, hiring talented faculty and key administrators, and vastly improving our campus. We have significantly increased the diversity of our student body and faculty/staff (in 2007-8, 24% of our students and 16% of our faculty and staff are people of color), and enhanced all administrative processes within the school.
While the vision of our founder and the mission of the school remains unchanged, our students’ and families’ experience of the school is quite different from what it was even a few years ago.
