Beginning Your Journey at The Bush School…

Contact us, please, and find out more!

If you are looking at grades K-12 for your child/ren, please tell us more about you and your child/ren, so we can contact you about applying at The Bush School.

You can also contact any one of us with the information at the right hand side of the page.

Come to an Open House

Add one of our Open Houses to your calendar:

  • Lower School (grades Kindergarten-5) – Thursday, November 6. Doors open at 6 p.m. This is a parents-only evening for grades K-3.
  • Middle School (grades 6-8) – Monday, October 13. Doors open at 6 p.m.
  • Upper School (grades 9-12) – Monday, November 3. Doors open at 6 p.m.
  • K-12 Open House – Sunday, January 11. Doors open at 1 p.m.

If you only have time for one event per school you are considering, we believe it should be the Open House. Each Bush Open House program begins at 7 pm, but our doors open at 6:30 pm so that you can browse an information fair with tables on various aspects of the school, such as diversity, athletics, extended day program, parent involvement, being K-12, college counseling, and more.

There is no need to RSVP for an Open House, but if you have questions, please contact Johnica Hopkins, Admissions Assistant, at 206-326-7736 or by email.

Consider attending a parent tour

Click here to set up a parent tour during the day, if you have time. Tours cover different material than is covered in the Open Houses and afford you the opportunity to visit classes in session and ask questions of the admissions team or the division directors. During the school year, tours are for parents only. Students will be invited to come for a student visit once they have applied. Regularly scheduled tours of Lower, Middle, and Upper School will run from October through January. Please check back in the fall for our tour schedule.

Decide whether to apply for financial aid

If you think you may need financial aid, plan to attend our Financial Aid Information Evening on Wednesday, December 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Community Room. There is no need to RSVP for this evening, but if you have questions, please contact Johnica Hopkins at 206-326-7736 or by email. The deadline to apply for financial aid is February 5, 2009.

Frequently Asked Questions About Financial Aid

Tuition for 2008-9

  • Kindergarten - Second Grade is $17,230
  • Third - Fifth Grade is $17,975
  • Sixth - Eighth Grade is $22,355
  • Ninth - Twelfth Grade is $23,420

Each year in January our Board of Trustees votes to establish tuition levels for the following academic year. Because we award aid on a need basis, starting with the most needy families and moving up the income scale, a very rough rule of thumb is that families with incomes of more than $60,000 usually will not receive aid, even though they may need aid. Our financial aid budget is well over $1 million (more than 10% of our operating budget), but we simply do not have enough funds to provide aid to all families who need it. Admissions are made on a need-blind basis.

To begin exploring the programs of the school right away, please click on “Teaching and Learning” above and then on the relevant division – Lower (K-5), Middle (6-8), or Upper (9-12).

Thank you for considering The Bush School in your search for the right school for your child. We look forward to getting to know your child and your family over the next few months!
