Welcome to the Bush School Library

The mission of the library and information technology program is twofold:

to ensure that students of The Bush School are effective users of ideas and information technology
to ensure that faculty and staff have access to the training and tools that will enable them to effectively use information, communication and productivity technology

This mission is accomplished by:

providing intellectual and physical access to information in all formats
providing instruction to foster competent and responsible use of information and technology
enhancing interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas
collaborating with faculty to integrate information literacy and use of technology into the content curriculum
providing ongoing training to faculty and staff in new information, communication and productivity technology applications
providing guidance in the ethical use of information, communication and productivity technology

This mission is guided by six essential questions:

Why read?
Why do I need information?
What is the difference between information and knowledge?
What are my rights and responsibilities as a consumer and producer of information?
How does the world I live in affect the skills I need?
Why and how do I use the library?
