Our School
Our Faculty
We believe education is a learning experience for the teacher as well as the student—intended to achieve a common goal: a passion for lifelong learning. Our process goes far beyond the traditional concept of master and student. Our teachers foster close working relationships with their students, assuming the roles of patient collaborator and encouraging coach. This approach, infused with an unmistakable enthusiasm for learning, makes our faculty our greatest asset.
A great strength of The Bush School is the quality of the adults who are selected to work directly with its students and indirectly in support of its students. Faculty members must be more than knowledgeable in their subject matter. They must be inquisitive, creative teachers who can stimulate critical thinking in exciting and challenging ways; they must be role models for children to emulate. All staff members must measure up to the standards Helen Bush herself used to interview prospective teachers: "Do you love children?" and "Do children love you?" The Bush Long Range Plan states a commitment to make sure the school utilizes strong systems of recruitment, evaluation, professional development and compensation to keep the education dynamic and vital in the future.
