Student Helpers

In the spirit of community and to allow the upper school students the opportunity to enjoy a sense of ownership in the commons, each student enjoys a day of helpful contribution in the kitchen.

As part of their school day the students help in preparing the day's menu, bake cookies or quick breads, and serve lunch to all grades.

The interaction with the lower and middle school students allows everyone the chance to get to know each other and is great fun.

The end of their day usually involves clean up and restocking which also allows them to see the amount of work and planning it takes for the commons to operate on a daily basis.

Their contribution in the commons is both greatly appreciated and vital to the communal feeling we try to convey.
