State-Bound Blazers: Boys XC Team, Four Girls Qualify for 1A State Championships

 
Make it three in a row! Saturday afternoon at District 2 1A Championships at South Whidbey High School, the Bush Boys Cross Country team finished in second place to qualify for the third straight year for the 1A State Championships on Saturday, November 4 at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. 

A week after winning the Emerald Sound Conference Championship, the Blazers put together another solid run, tallying 81 points to place second overall. Cedar Park Christian won the district title with 64 points. Bush was paced by junior Duncan F-S. ’25 who finished seventh in a time of 16 minutes, 48.49 seconds. Junior Ben H. ’25 was eleventh for Bush in 17:08.96. Overall, Bush placed all five runners in the top 26. 
 
On the girls side, the Blazers placed sixth overall with 121 points. Individually, Isabelle O. '27, Ryan E. '27, Romy M. '24, and Elise F. '25 finished within the top 28 to qualify for the states on Saturday.
