Upper School Counseling

The Bush Upper School Counselor is a trained mental health counselor with education and expertise in delivering counseling services in a school setting. At The Bush Upper School the role of Upper School Counselor is to provide for the emotional and psychological well being of the student body. Counseling services support students and their families in the context of the educational mission of the school. Providing this support, requires that the School Counselor:

  • Meet & work with students on a one-to-one basis
  • Situationally, meet & work with students in small group settings
  • Work in conjunction with school faculty/staff, student’s advisors, class dean, and U.S. Director.
  • Maintain contact with and outside professionals and support the counseling strategies being used with students by those professionals
  • Maintain contact with parents, students and faculty working with those students
  • Facilitate communication between these various stakeholders.
