Where Can I Volunteer?

Volunteer Portal

Want to volunteer at Bush School?

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Winston Churchill

Here is where you can view all of the volunteer opportunities at The Bush School and get connected directly with the volunteer coordinator for the work in which you are interested.

Why Volunteer?

The more you volunteer, the more connected you get with other parents, the more you understand the school and the people who form it, and the more you experience what your child experiences on a daily basis.  Quite simply, parent volunteers make the school a great place while we form a community for ourselves and continue our life’s learning journey.  Additionally, the school needs parent support in all aspects of its operations  -  ranging from helping in the classroom to fundraising – all important and essential.

Just What Jobs Are Out There?

Volunteer roles take many sizes and shapes - ranging from coordinating the SUMMER OPPORTUNITY SHOWCASE, to helping beautify our campus, to phone-a-thon fund raisers, to decorating for student dances. We not only list and describe the volunteer jobs, we also indicate the type of commitment required so you can match it to your lifestyle. No matter what your interests are and no matter how your work day and home life schedule you and your family, there's a volunteer job at Bush School for you.

The Latest and Greatest?

This website has ongoing volunteer jobs listed but also new volunteer opportunities are listed as they arise (yes, even those last minute needs are put up for request here).

What Do I Do?

Explore the volunteer opportunities listed under the groups to your left and sign up or request information as indicated. You will be contacted within 7 days.

Why We Volunteer

Fortunately I am one of those lucky people... who has figured out that you get so much more out of volunteer work than you put into it. If everyone realized this there would not be enough work to go around!
— Mearl Bergeson, Upper School Parent

I'm connected to the school in ways I never imagined. I know the teachers well, I know my kids' friends well, I know an entire set of parents it would have taken me years to meet, and I know the faculty and staff who make it all happen.
— Andrea Tevlin, Lower and Middle School Parent

I have learned so much from meeting parents of students at different grade levels, from working with the staff, and from the students who remind me of the unique opportunities we have at Bush. Volunteering allows me to be involved in our community and to show my daughter that we can make a difference.
— Dee Simon, Middle School Parent
