Summer Sports Camps

Welcome to Blazer Summer Sports Camps

Registration opens February 15

The Blazers Summer Sports Camps focus on teaching and developing fundamental technical and tactical sports skills in a fun and challenging atmosphere.  Participants are able to apply the experience they gain at the camps to their participation on recreational, club and/or interscholastic sports teams.  Our experienced and qualified coaches utilize age-appropriate coaching methods which aim to teach offensive and defensive skills, team strategies and mental aspects such as teamwork, leadership, confidence and fair play.  Following the Blazers Athletic Philosophy, coaches will encourage campers to work hard and to improve various aspects of their game while developing a love for the sport.  All levels are welcome!

  • Grade 6–8 Boys Basketball: June 17–21, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., $210


    The Blazers Summer Sports Camps focus on teaching and developing fundamental technical and tactical sports skills in a fun and challenging atmosphere. Participants are able to apply the experience they gain at the camps to their participation on recreational, club and/or interscholastic sports teams.     Camp Details:
    • June 17-21 / 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    • Schuchart Gym
    • Participants need to be dropped off and picked up at the gym
    • Camp Fee: $210

    Notes:
    • All campers will receive a camp jersey and a basketball
    • Athletic Trainer coverage will be provided throughout the camp
    • Please bring a water bottle and a snack

    Lead Coach Bio - Steve Hawes:
    • Current Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach at The Bush School
    • 25 years of high school and collegiate coaching experience
    • Professional Basketball Player - Venice, Italy (1972-74 & 1984-85)
    • Professional Basketball Player - NBA (1974-84)
  • Grade 6–8 Girls Basketball: June 10–14, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., $210

    Camp Details:
    • June 10-14 / 12:30-3:30 p.m.
    • Mag Gym / Schuchart Gym
    • Participants need to be dropped off and picked up at the gym
    • Camp Fee: $210.00

    • Girls JV Basketball Coach at Flintridge Prep High School, La Canada, CA (2005-09)
    • Girls Varsity Basketball Coach - Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School, St. Louis, MO (2000-05)
    • Played for four years at Illinois Wesleyan University
  • Grade 9-12 Cross Country Methow Camp: June 11-13, $125

    Join the inaugural Blazers Cross Country Methow Summer Camp!
    This overnight summer camp is designed for students who are interested in joining the Varsity Cross Country team in the fall.  The coaches plan to kick off the summer with a fun, exciting experience including opportunities for new and returning team members to bond and to become part of the Blazers Cross Country team culture. Camp activities may include hiking, bonfires, various outdoor activities, stargazing, mountain biking, games & team bonding.  Throughout the camp, the team will establish the foundation for the fall cross country season, including developing summer workout plans for the runners. All levels are welcome! 
    Camp Details:
    • June 11-13 
    • The team will depart in the afternoon on June 11, and will return in the evening of June 13
    • The Bush School, Methow Campus
    • Camp Fee: $125.00

    • All campers will receive a camp t-shirt
    • Trip details will be shared leading up to the camp

Following the Blazers Athletic Philosophy, coaches will encourage campers to work hard and to improve various aspects of their game while developing a love for the sport. All levels are welcome!

    • All campers will receive a camp shirt and a disc
    • Athletic Trainer coverage will be provided throughout the camp
    • Please bring cleats, a water bottle, a snack (half day camps) / packed lunch (full day camp), and sunscreen

    Lead Coach Bio - Kate Kingery:
    • Current Boys Varsity and Girls Varsity Ultimate Head Coach at The Bush School
    • Member of the 2000 Carleton College (MN) National Ultimate Championship Team (Syzygy)
    • Member of Seattle Riot for the last eleven years (Team Captain in 2012 and 2015), World Champions in 2014
    • Coached in 9 different countries
    • Appointed as Co-head Coach of the Seattle Rainmakers in 2016
