Welcome to The Bush School!

One of the best parts of the new school year is the opportunity to welcome new students and families to our school community. We can hardly wait to get started and are thrilled to have you joining the Bush community.

Please save the dates for our Lower, Middle and Upper School welcome events listed below. Our division directors will be in contact with new families during the summer and in mid-June, parents of new students will receive a username and password to the Bush web portal which provides access to additional resources and back-to-school information.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus in the coming months, and please be sure to reach out to us in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid with any questions along the way.

  • Athletics

    Fall season practices begin the week of August 21. Students who sign up for a fall sport are expected to attend practices starting at that time. If you have scheduling conflicts, please communicate them to the athletic office and/or each sport’s head coach.

    A detailed practice schedule for the start of the fall season will be published on the Bush portal in the upcoming weeks and will be emailed directly to those who have signed up to participate.

  • Health Forms

    In order for students to begin school on Wednesday, September 6, the must have completed medical forms on file. The updated 2017–2018 health forms will be available in early June. All new and current families will receive an email notification when the updated health forms are available. This allows the school to properly manage any health emergencies your child may have while at school or while participating in school activities off campus. Unfortunately, your child will be sent home if the medical forms—vital health record, physician, medication, concussion, current immunization, and any applicable “action” plan—are not on file with Magnus Health by September 6.
  • Summer Programs

    Summer Programs offer classes, activities, and camps that provide a healthy, active, engaging, and safe environment for Bush students as well as for students from the broader community. They operate under the same guiding principles as The Bush School's academic-year programs. Summer Programs are dedicated to providing quality experiences for students of all ages.

  • Extended Day Program

    The Bush School's Extended Day Program is a child-centered environment focused on the development of social skills, intellectual curiosity, self-esteem, and a sense of responsibility for one’s own actions. Extended Day runs from dismissal to 6 p.m. Special schedules are communicated ahead of time.

    Extended Day meets the needs of students through a variety of activities and programs, ranging from free play to guided experiences in art, science, music, and physical education. Students can use the resources of the library as well as a large assortment of materials in the Extended Day main room. After-school clubs consist of enrichment courses inspired by Bush's progressive, hands-on approach and are taught by quality contractors. Offerings include robotics, LEGO engineering, Mandarin, sewing, chess club, smart art, and more.

  • Families Association

    Our Bush School Families Association mission is to promote awareness, a sense of belonging, participation, and education of our families at Bush. Our purpose is to nurture a spirit of involvement and community between the school and its families. Every enrolled family is a member of the FA—and all FA meetings are open for you to attend.

    There are many ways for parents and guardians to contribute time and talent to the school. Whether it is chaperoning a single field trip or serving two years on a committee, there truly is “something for everyone.” Many volunteer opportunities are done during school hours, but plenty can be done at home, such as preparing dishes for the Faculty/Staff Luncheons, editing copy for the auction catalog or coordinating volunteers to work shifts at Sparky’s Grill (just to name a few).

    Look for specific calls for volunteers via the weekly E-News, division bulletins, or direct notices from your grade-level rep. You are also always welcome to send a general inquiry by emailing familiesassociation@bush.edu. We will connect you to the appropriate committee or area of interest.
