The Bush SchoolAnnouncements

Lower School Service Club - Tomorrow, Friday, November 21

🍂 Friday, November 21 | 3:20–4:35 p.m. | Kindergarten–Fifth Grade
Campus Beautification and Fall Yard Clean-Up

Bush’s dynamic garden duo, Groundskeepers Rachel Skokan and Madison Opp, keep our campus beautifully blooming through every season. With their care and expertise, our gardens thrive as vibrant outdoor classrooms for students and the community.

Students will join Rachel and Madison to help take care of our campus, starting with leaf clean-up in the Middle School Courtyard, where fallen leaves can make the space messy and slippery. Students will also get to plant more flowers in the lower school outdoor area.

Open to all K–5 students and Middle School helpers.

💚 Thank You to Our Blooms & Worms participants!
Thank you to everyone who joined our Lower School Service Club project last Friday. Even with a light drizzle, twenty-five students and twelve volunteers brought their joyful energy to the afternoon, planting 80 flowers, assembling a new worm bin, creating fresh worm bedding, and making button badges to take home.
Special shout-out to Jo Ito for sharing his love of vermiculture with all of us, to Jill Denny for bringing her worm wisdom and real live worms to jump-start our new bin, and to Madison and Rachel for prepping and providing all of the beautiful flowers

Looking Ahead

December: The Lower School Service Club will focus on supporting people experiencing food insecurity by launching a food and hygiene kit drive to benefit local community organizations.

January: We’ll continue our December focus by supporting Lake City Partners, building on the partnership we began through sack-lunch donations last year. Students will prepare sandwiches and assemble eighty sack lunches, enough for two days of meals, for Aurora Oaks, an enhanced shelter in Shoreline serving sixty residents. All K–5 students are invited to participate. Middle School helpers are welcome to join.
