The ability to cope and recover after a setback (aka “bounce back”) is called resilience. Research shows that people with resilience, coping skills, and emotional intelligence are more likely to have better overall well-being than those with lower resilience. Kids with lower levels of resilience are prone to feel overwhelmed or helpless. These children may avoid challenges altogether or rely on unhealthy coping strategies when faced with stressors. Thankfully, we can turn to the research to guide us. Join us Monday, June 12 for “The Science of Raising Resilient Kids” with Dr. Shanna Alvarez of Helping Families ThriveThis is a virtual workshop and can be accessed via this Zoom link.
