Advanced Wilderness Class Treks Mt. Dickerman

The Upper School Advanced Wilderness Skills class, comprised of six students from Ninth to Twelfth Grade, has completed another challenge: planning and executing a day hike as a team without their teachers, Jay Wyatt or Alban Howe, leading or facilitating the class. The students worked hard to plan every aspect of the trip, including route selection, navigation, equipment, food, group communication, and decision making. The students led Jay and Alban up Mount Dickerman, charging to the top in two and a half hours covering 4000 feet of vertical gain. Their efforts were rewarded with spectacular views of the entire Cascade Range. You can see photographs from their adventure here.
