On Friday, May 8, more than 300 grandparents and special friends gathered at The Bush School for a joyful morning celebrating connection, community, and Lower School life. Guests enjoyed breakfast and a vibrant student-led program featuring musical performances from each grade before heading into classrooms to experience the daily life of K–5 students.
During the program, Lower School Director Aliya Virani reflected on this year’s schoolwide theme of “courage,” highlighting the many ways Bush students demonstrate bravery, empathy, and curiosity each day, whether by trying something new, standing up for others, or asking thoughtful questions. She also encouraged grandparents and special friends to continue sharing their own stories and experiences with students, recognizing the important role they play in shaping and inspiring future generations.
From singing and storytelling to recess games and warm conversations, Grandparents and Special Friends Day gave guests a meaningful opportunity to experience the heart of K–5 life at Bush.
