On Saturday, May 30, The Bush School community filled the trails of Magnuson Park for its annual fun run, the Homestretch 5K. During this exciting morning, solo runners recorded personal bests, teams crossed the finish line together, and families and friends cheered their hearts out for every participant.
After the 5K race, the community watched the kids’ 400-meter dash, relished the scenic waterfront, and enjoyed a picnic paired with uplifting music and nourishing refreshments. The Homestretch 5K ended on a cheerful note, with a spirit-wear contest to recognize racers who wore their Bush blue and white to the event.
A true testament to the warmth and cohesion of the Bush community, the Homestretch 5K wouldn’t have thrived without the support of staff and community volunteers, who ensured it was smooth from start to finish. Each participant received a race bib with a timing chip, as well as a commemorative acrylic medal to showcase their accomplishment and honor a tradition that Bush hopes to continue building for years to come.
