The Bush School is pleased to be partnering with SAGE Dining Services to support food service in the Commons. SAGE focuses on safety, quality service, community, nutrition, education, sustainability, and delicious food made from scratch using seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients. We are so thrilled to be partnering with the entire SAGE team to provide healthy, nutritious, and delicious food at Bush.
2020-2021 Bush Food Services Information
The Bush School will continue to partner with SAGE Dining Services. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, food service and the Commons will operate differently this year. As stated in the 2020-2021 Reopening Plan, food service will be offered as a grab-and-go model for lunchtimes.
Please note that breakfast will not be offered.
Lower School Lunch
Lower School students will eat lunch in their classrooms. Students may bring their own snacks and lunches. Parents who wish to pre-order lunch for their Lower School child will be able to do so through the MyKidsSpending website. Meals that are purchased through this system will be delivered to the classroom.
The Lower School menu will be available for two weeks at a time, and parents will order lunch one week in advance. Note that day-of ordering is not allowed through the MyKidsSpending system. More information about pre-ordering lunch for Lower School students will be shared before the start of the school year.
The Lower School SAGE lunch is $6.00, comes with white or chocolate milk, and a choice of:
- a cold lunch (sandwich or salad);
- a hot lunch;
- sushi (available Tuesdays through Fridays for $7.00).
Middle and Upper School Lunch
Middle and Upper School students may bring their own lunch and snacks from home. If Middle and Upper School students want to purchase a lunch on campus, they can do so through a re-organized and socially distanced lunch line.
Middle and Upper School SAGE lunch options include:
- a salad with a roll or chips;
- a sandwich with chips;
- a hot lunch;
- sushi (available Tuesdays through Fridays for $7.00);
- other add-ons including desserts and beverage options.
Middle School students will eat lunch outdoors or indoors in small groups with physical distancing.
Upper School students will eat lunch outdoors or indoors in small groups with physical distancing. For health and safety reasons, off-campus privileges for Upper School students have been suspended until further notice, and so students may not leave campus during lunchtime. Because we are limiting the number of people on campus, Upper School students cannot order food delivery to campus at this time.

Local Sourcing and Sustainability
SAGE creates balanced menus, customized for our community, emphasizing freshness, variety and flavor. The SAGE team cooks from scratch, and prepares vegetables, whole grains and salads that children and young adults want to eat. SAGE is partnering with the school to use compostable products, and supports family-operated local and regional farms and vendors.
SAGE takes great care to ensure that all SAGE team members are extensively trained in food allergy awareness, that the menus provide enough variety so there is something for everyone, and that community members are well-informed through complete ingredient lists and serving line signs. SAGE does not use peanuts, tree nuts, or nut oils in any of their food preparation. SAGE’s comprehensive allergen filter, which can be accessed through the online menu and the free Touch of SAGE mobile app, makes planning meals easy.
As per our Community Agreement as a part of our Health and Saftey Measures, The Bush School has decided to move to a nut-free campus.
SAGE will be the primary catering source for school events. For catering requests, please complete a Catering Request Form. If you have additional questions regarding catering, you can also contact Food Service Director Helen Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org
