Building Community & Belonging

The Bush School Families Association (FA) mission is to promote awareness, a sense of belonging, participation, and education of our families at Bush. Our purpose is to nurture a spirit of involvement and community between the school and its families. Every enrolled family is a member of the FA—and all FA events and meetings are open for all families to attend. There are many ways the FA reinforces the mission of our school; we have an opportunity for every person to get involved, no matter how much time you have. Together we can build a community where everyone is valued, seen, and heard and can live fully.

Spirit of Involvement

Our community is stronger when parents/guardians are active participants in the life of the school. At Bush, families contribute in a way that best fits their family and interests. Volunteering through the FA is a great way to build connections and be a part of supporting our students, faculty, and staff. Each year hundreds of volunteers come together to support signature school events and community engagement including Parent University, Blazer Bash, Family Affinity Groups, Faculty and Staff Appreciation Lunches, Book Fair, Annual Fund, Bush Arts, and more

EVENTS & COMMUNITY LIFE

The Bush School encourages families to participate in affinity groups where they can gather with those who share a similar identity. Affinity groups are a way to support and empower members of our community. FA volunteers serve as the leads for various affinity groups which include established affinity groups as well as new affinity groups each year. The current family affinity groups include the Afro-Diaspora Family Group, Asian-American/Asian Affinity Group, Bilingual Affinity Group, Jewish Affinity Group, Latinx Affinity Grouo, Learning Differences Affinity Group, LGBTQIA+ Family Affinity Group, Muslim Family Affinity Group,  and White Anti-Racist Parents/Guardians.
The Bush School is an independent, coeducational day school located in Seattle, WA enrolling 715 students in grades K–12. The mission of The Bush School is to spark in students of diverse backgrounds and talents a passion for learning, accomplishment, and contribution to their communities.
