Blazer Bounce Back From Adversity For The Win

Blazers take down the tall trees of Cedar Park for their best win of the season.
What is it about facing a tall team that makes people nervous?  Cedar Park Christian entered the Mag Gym with a lot of tall players and some 8th graders thrown in for good measure.

The Blazers were intimidated early and it showed as Cedar Park, with some aggressive play to go along with their height took a 15-10 lead into halftime.

But something at halftime struck Coaches Rosen and Regas.  The players didn't seemed panicked.  "I was sure everyone was going to feel defeated," said Rosen. "But instead everyone was calm and focused.  It was is if they knew they could come back and sure enough they did."

In the second half the Blazers clamped down on defense and stole the ball from the taller, but slower Cedar Park.  By the ten minute mark, the Blazers had shaved the Cedar Park lead to one point, when Tula R. hit a short jumper to take the lead.  The Blazers never looked back.

The Blazers held Cedar Park to three points for almost the entire second half until Cedar Park hit a free throw and put back at the buzzer.

It was a hard fought game, and the Blazers showed a lot of guts in grinding their way to a victory.
