Blazers Use Steals To Break Down Forest Ridge.

Taking their fifth win in a row, the Blazers use lock-down defense to frustrate Forest Ridge.
Last year the Blazers played Forest Ridge in their first home game and lost.  Forest Ridge played a zone defense, the team had not been given a zone offense and the team endured a frustrating game.  Forest Ridge was also the Blazers' last game of the season and by then a zond offense was installed and the Blazers took the game, ending the season on a high note.

This year, the Blazers were prepared to face the Forest Ridge zone again, but unlike the previous year Forest Ridge played a much more aggressive and extended zone.  The Blazers found it much more challenging to attack efficiently in their half-court offense to the turned to what has guided them through their current win streak:  their defense.

The Blazers harrassed the Forest Ridge guards all game long and generated fast break points.  Said coach Rosen of the defensive play, "It really was the difference in the outcome of the game.  Forest Ridge played really good defense.  It was a much closer game than the final score indicated, but the girls kept generating steals and even more crucial they were converting those turnovers into points."

The Blazers move on to play SAAS in what should be a tough game given how much height the SAAS team brings into the game.  It could be up to the defense again to get the job done as points in the paint won't come easily.

Go Blazers!
