Bush Cross Country Qualifies for State Meet

The Bush School Cross Country program is state bound. Saturday afternoon at South Whidbey High School, both the girls and boys finished in the top four at the District 1-4 State Qualifying Meet to advance to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association State Championships on Saturday, November 6 at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
Fresh off their Emerald Sound Conference title, the girls team continued to impress, finishing in second place with 128 points. Seton Catholic won the title with 96 points. 

The Blazers were led by Kathryn F. ’22, who covered the 5,000-meter course in 20.37.10, to place sixteenth overall. Bush placed four runners in the top 35. 

For the boys team, the Blazers were led by an impressive one-two punch of Amare F. ’23 (17:50.24) and Duncan F-S. ’25 (17:54.75), leading the team to a fourth-place finish. Individually, Amare captured seventh place, while Duncan was ninth, and Eric C. ’23 (18:11.02) finished in thirteenth. Bush scored 92 points, eight points away from a top three finish. Overlake won the team title with 69 points.
