Golfers Rusty in Season Opener

Alec Osenbach
The defending Emerald City League champion Blazers had a rough first match of the 2013 season as they fell to a young and talented Seattle Academy team. Playing at West Seattle, but without now-graduated star Ian G., the Bush squad saw firsthand how difficult it will be to maintain the dominance they displayed last season.

Leading the way for the Blazers was Jackson '15, who shot a respectable 42 on the front 9. Jackson was followed by Cooper '14 with a 48, Craig '15 with a 52, and Lucas '16 with a 55. Making his debut for the Blazers was freshman Henry H, who carded a 62. Medalist honors went to Seattle Academy's Andrew J., who fired an impressive 38.

With the ealry season rust hopefully gone, the Bush team looks to return to form Friday against Overlake at Jefferson Park.
