Bush Golfers Drop Close Match Against Overlake

Alec Osenbach
The Blazers started to return to form on Thursday at Jefferson Park, but tiny mistakes ended up tilting the tight match in Overlake's favor. Following Tuesday's thumping at the hands of Seattle Academy, the Bush golfers turned in a much more respectable team score on their home course, but still ended up two strokes short, losing 181-183.

The most encouraging sign from the match was the 1-over-par 37 fired by top Bush golfer Jackson L., who took medalist honors after a shaky first outing against Seattle Academy. Also returning to form was number 2 golfer Craig B., who shot a solid 45 despite double bogeys on the final two holes. Lucas S. and Cooper J. rounded out the scoring for the Blazers, shooting 51 and 54 respectively. Also of note was the solid first round from Greg S., who managed a 58.

The Blazers play next on 9/24, again facing Seattle Academy. The match will be at a new course, however, as the teams are travelling to Jackson Park for the first time in recent memory. The Bush team looks for some much-needed consistency as they try to defend last year's league championship.
