Bush Falls to Bainbridge By a Single Stroke

Alec Osenbach
Wrapping up their busy week of golf and still searching for that elusive first team victory, the Bush golfers faced off against Bainbridge Island Friday at Jefferson Park. But despite strong performances up and down the lineup, the Blazers fell short by just a single stroke.

As usual, Jackson L. paced the team, and though he struggled at times, he was able to take medalist honors with a 41. Sophomore Lucas S. turned in an excellent round to finish second on the team, carding a season-best 46. Craig B. finished with a 47, and freshman Henry H. continued his impressive play with a 49. This was the first time this season that the Blazers finished with four sub-50 scores, but an unlikely 43 from Bainbridge's number six golfer enabled the visiting team to win by a stroke 182-183.

The Blazers now look forward to their last two league matches, and the 18-hole league championship match which will be play at Snoqualmie Falls. Despite a poor win-loss record, the Blazers have qualified 5 golfers for league, and look to retain the league championship trophy that they claimed last season.
