Seattle Latino Film Festival Screening - Tuesday, October 11

From Mexico to Vietnam: A Chicano Story
Date: Tuesday, October 11

Location: Benaroya Theater 
Synopsis: After losing her father at an early age, Tina Duran explores the rich history of her father, the story of her ancestors who migrated from Mexico to the United States, and the implications the Vietnam War had on the Chicano & Latino community.
 
Seattle Latino Film Festival (SLFF) is an educational outreach program that invites Seattle-area schools to host closed screenings of impactful Latino films that is free to members of the school’s community. 
 
Organized by Upper School Spanish teacher Monica Gartman and SLFF, Bush will be hosting a screening of the documentary From Mexico to Vietnam: A Chicano Story. Monica, who has been working with SLFF for the past few years said, "as a Spanish-language teacher I want to include experiences for my students that broaden their understanding and connection to the Spanish-speaking community within Seattle, throughout the country, and beyond."
