Middle School ERB Standardized Testing - Wednesday, January 11, and Thursday, January 12

Middle School students will participate in the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP 5) on Wednesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 12, 2023. While the ERB will take place in the morning on both days, students will have a full day on campus (including clubs and E-lectives). There will be no make-up dates for missed ERB assessments.

Later in their school career, students may be asked to take standardized tests (e.g., PSAT, ACT, SAT). Standardized testing is used in the Middle School to give students an opportunity to practice. These standardized test results provide a profile of students' relative strengths and areas of growth. Results may also provide useful information about gaps in a student’s individual knowledge base. All students will take the following subtests: Quantitative Reasoning, Math, Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Vocabulary.

Students will have an opportunity to take a practice test to increase their comfort with the format and structure of the assessment. Middle School Learning Specialist Betsy Wandasiewicz and her department assistant, Katie Holmes, are in the midst of reaching out via email to parents/guardians of students who qualify for accommodations to confirm what to expect.

No preparation is necessary. However, here are three tips on what students can do prior to the test to be best prepared for the assessment:

-get a good night’s sleep,
-eat breakfast,
-arrive to school on time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Betsy Wandasiewicz via e-mail or by phone at (206) 326-7762.
