Thank you to all Lake City Partners Sack Lunch Participants

On Friday, January 23, the Bush Lower School Service Club held a session focused on food insecurity. Students began by listening to Our Little Kitchen, a book about neighbors coming together in a community kitchen to prepare a meal for people in their neighborhood. This sparked a thoughtful discussion about hunger, community care, and the importance of taking action.  With the help of twenty students and ten parent/guardian volunteers, over eighty sack lunches and cards were prepared. A surprise visit from Head of School Sarah Smith delighted students and volunteers alike, as she joined in on the action.

The meals were donated to Aurora Oaks, an enhanced shelter in Shoreline operated by Lake City Partners, helping to feed residents over two days. Thank you to all the student participants, and parent and guardian volunteers, who generously gave their time- and to the Bush School Families Association for funding the materials and food to make this event possible!
