Join Us! Parent University: A Conversation on AI, Family, and Learning - Wednesday, April 22

We’re excited to announce our rescheduled second Parent University event of the academic year, on Wednesday, April 22.  As artificial intelligence continues to shape how we live, learn, and connect, we invite all K-12 families to join us for a thoughtful, accessible conversation about what AI means for families and schools today.
 
Parent University: A Community Conversation on AI
Date: Wednesday, April 22
Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Location: Upper School South - Multipurpose Room (enter through the Lake Washington Blvd entrance)

This Parent University will explore:
  • A current look at AI in today’s society: its possibilities and its risks
  • The role of AI in raising children and teens
  • How AI is showing up in education and learning environments
The evening will feature a panel conversation with opportunities for shared reflection and questions from our parent community.
 
Panelists include:
  • Farah Ali is Vice President of AI Transformation and Technology at Electronic Arts, where she leads the company’s AI strategy and execution to drive innovation across the entire game development pipeline. 
  • Swami Sivasubramanian is Vice President for Agentic AI at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a leader at the forefront of artificial intelligence and innovation. 
  • Jon Turow is an experienced product leader, having spent over a decade in cloud computing. Jon joined Madrona as a partner in 2022 and transitioned to venture partner in 2026. He is now a member of the technical team at Anthropic. 
About: Parent University is an annual parent and guardian education series open to the entire Seattle community. Parent University offers in-person and virtual seminars that explore relevant topics related to raising children in today’s society. Previous topics have included childhood anxiety, citizenship, parenting to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, learning differences, and digital safety.
