Students will revisit our neighbors at Preschool Adventure Learning Center (PALC), located right next door to campus, for a special buddy event.
Lower School students will pair up with preschool students to paint rocks and create colorful garden signs together for the PALC garden space.
This gathering will mark our tenth event and bring our year of Service Club to a close. Treats and snacks will be provided as we reflect on a wonderful year of community, creativity, and connection. We hope your student can join us for a joyful afternoon of art, friendship, and fun!
2025-2026 Fifth Grade Service Project- Appreciate Kits and Kindness Campaign
Fifth Grade students led a meaningful service project to show appreciation for the incredible Lower School faculty and staff at Bush while raising funds for Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary, an LGBTQ+-led organization dedicated to rescuing animals from high-risk shelters.
The students set out to assemble thirty-two appreciation kits filled with baked goods and handwritten cards to deliver during Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week. Thanks to the generosity and support of the community, that goal was surpassed, with forty appreciation boxes assembled for Lower School faculty and staff.
The campaign also aimed to raise $600 for Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary. Through the kindness and generosity of the Bush community, the students raised $1,008.96, nearly doubling their original goal.
This project was made possible by many members of the Bush community who helped bring it to life. Special thanks to Aliya Virani Lower School Director, for supporting the students and giving them space to lead, and to teachers Neil and Randi for encouraging the project every step of the way. The Lower School Service Club helped inspire the project and generously donated forty succulent pots, adding a special touch to each appreciation kit. Thank you as well to the families who donated baked goods, the parent and student volunteers who packed boxes and handwrote cards during the assembly event, and everyone who contributed to the kindness campaign.
Thank you for showing what is possible when a community comes together with generosity, care, and kindness.
