Blazers Overpower Knights on Varsity Baseball Opening Day
The Bush School Blazers beat the King's Knights 14-5 on Tuesday. Good hitting, aggressive baserunning, and a dominant pitching performance propelled the Blazers to an opening day victory.
The Bush School Blazers brought their bats to the ballpark in a 14-5 opening day win against the King's Knights on Tuesday. Senior Elliot P. S. dominated on the mound striking out the side in the first inning. He earned the win throwing 5 strong innings. In the top of the second, the Blazers scored 3 runs to stake out an early lead. With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, Sophomore Kai O. drove a shot into into the right center gap and flew around the bases for an inside-the-park grand slam. He also gunned down two baserunners attempting to steal second base in as many attempts. Senior Joel B. had 3 hits in the game and pitched in relief in the sixth and seventh innings. Sophomore Dylan D. flashed leather several times including a diving play to record the last out. The Blazers play Concrete High School at Marymoor Park Wednesday.
