The Bush School

Athletics Hall of FameJanice Osaka

In 2016, Janice Osaka retired from teaching after forty-one years at The Bush School. The impact she made on our school community during her career is immeasurable. In addition to her renowned math teaching career, Janice is known as the "Blazers #1 Fan”. Throughout her time at Bush, she was a regular in the bleachers supporting our teams in fifteen different sports. Rain or shine, she faithfully attend numerous Bush sports competitions and the student-athletes and coaches continue to be energized by hearing her familiar, and encouraging cheers. Earlier in her career, Janice had a positive impact on our students as a basketball and soccer coach at both the Middle School and the Upper School. For many years, she played an integral role in organizing the Bush Pep Band which provides rays of inspiration during basketball games throughout the dreary months of the winter season.
