Bush Board of Trustees: Meet 2021-2022 New Trustees

The Bush School’s Board is made up of twenty-five volunteer Trustees that oversee governance of the school. The board is the guardian of the school’s mission. It is the board’s responsibility to ensure that the mission is relevant and vital to the community it serves and to monitor the success of the school in fulfilling its mission. The Board meets monthly during the school year.
This spring, we are highlighting the newest members of the Board of Trustees. We have asked our new Trustees a series of questions to help the community get to know them a bit better.

Name: Julie Okerstrom (Parent of Kate '22 and Paige '25)

Why do you serve on The Bush School Board of Trustees?
“The Bush School is such an important part of the community and of our family’s lives. Since joining Bush, I have been involved as a volunteer in many different capacities but found myself wanting to be engaged on a deeper level. I believe strongly in the mission of the school and consider it to be an honor to be able to contribute to discussion and decisions around Bush’s strategic direction, and to work alongside Bush’s talented leadership team and my fellow trustees to advance the objectives of the school.”
