Bush Boys XC Team Wins Bob Firman Invitational Varsity Division II Title

Saturday morning, the Bush Boys Cross Country team proved they are not only one of the top teams in the state of Washington but the entire Northwest. At the Bob Firman Invitational held at Eagle Island State Park west of Boise, Idaho, the Blazers scored 160 points to win the Varsity Division II team title. Juan Diego of Draper Utah was runner-up with 200 points.
Duncan F-S. ’25 led the way for the Blazers, crossing the 5,000-meter course in a time of 17:03.4 to place twentieth overall. Teammate Eric C.  ’23 was right behind in twenty-first place (17:05.5), while Amaré F. ’23 captured thirty-seventh place (17:32.3). Overall the Blazers had five runners in the top sixty. This was the first time since 2019 that the Bob Firman Invitational – one of the biggest invitationals in the Northwest–was held due to the pandemic. 
 
On the girls side, the Blazers finished in seventh place as a team with 230 points. The winning team was Hardin High School from Montana with 33 points.

Kathryn F. ’23 was the top runner for Bush finishing in twentieth place overall in 20:37.3. Caroline H. ’26 was the next top finisher for the Blazers clocking 22:00.3. The team had five runners in the top 100.
