State Bound: Bush Boys XC Wins District Title, Girls Runner-Up

The Bush Cross Country program is state-bound for the second year in a row. Saturday at the 1A District 2 Championships at South Whidbey High School the boys team claimed the district team title with 55 points, while the girls placed runner-up with 76 points.

Coming off a third-place showing at the Emerald Sound Conference Championships, the boys team had a strong showing as Duncan F-S. ’25 led the way finishing in fourth place overall in 17:01.59 on the 5,000-meter course, while teammate Amaré F. ’23 was right behind in fifth place (17:04.90). Geoffrey A. ’24 finished in twelfth (17:30.69), while Ben H. ’25 was thirteenth (17:34.81). The Blazer had all five runners place in the top 21. 
 
In the girls race, Kathryn F. ’23 continued to impress, placing third overall (20:13.45). Caroline H.  ’26 was ninth (21:26.79), while Elise F.  ’25 was fifteenth (22:09.67) for Bush. The Blazer had five in the top 30. 
 
The Blazers will head to the 1A State Championships on Saturday, November 5 at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
