Paid for the Tenth Grade class to visit the Wing Luke museum in connection with their unit on borders. In the borders unit, students consider the ways literature helps us to identify, reify, and break down literal and figurative borders between people. On the day of the field trip, students explore resources from Densho, a local organization founded by the survivors and descendants of Japanese-American incarceration, visit the Wing Luke Museum, and the Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park to learn more about this history and about literal and thematic borders in general.
