K-12 Experiential Education: Taking Learning Further

From a Lower School student’s first field trip to Senior Projects, experiential education is where Bush students turn ideas into discovery. Hands-on, real-world learning in and out of the classroom does not happen by accident. Experiential education is at the core of a Bush student’s experience from labs to global travel, project-based learning, and the Methow Campus.

Experiential education is woven throughout a Bush education and takes many forms across grades K-12, including:
  • Hands-on and project-based learning that connects classroom concepts to real-world experiences
  • Field trips and local exploration that make Seattle and the surrounding region an extension of the classroom
  • Outdoor learning at the Methow Campus that offers students opportunities for discovery, reflection, and connection
  • Travel and immersive experiences that broaden perspectives and deepen understanding
  • Senior projects and internships that allow students to pursue interests with greater independence
Gifts to the Annual Fund make these opportunities possible year after year, providing the resources needed to offer meaningful experiential programming at every grade level in and out of the classroom.
