What a difference a day makes!

Blazers bounce back for a hard fought victory.
After struggling through their first game against Northwest the sixth grade girls "White" team came out and looked like a completely different team when they took on the much taller Seattle Country Day Wildcats.
There were so many positives from this game it's hard to know where to start, but without a doubt the Blazers decided this time they were going to play some hard-nosed defense and it paid off by harassing the Wildcats into turnovers and poor shot selection.  Pamela B., Maddy F. and Anya Hasija were scrapping, poking and bothering their Wildcat counterparts all game long and the rest of the team fought hard to gain rebounding position against much taller players.

On offense the team did a much better job of getting spacing and through some fast breaks and some pick and roll action the team went on a scoring spurt that was capped by Tula R.'s jump shot that sent the Blazers to halftime with the lead.

The Wildcats would not go away quietly though and at one point in the second half tied the game before a great put-back shot from Anne F. gave the Blazers the lead for good.

The team was happy to welcome back Avie C. who saw her first action since coming off the flu.

A great victory heading into the break, and for now Coach Rosen and Coach Regas can only hope and pray that the team will try to practice on their own during their time off.  (HINT, HINT).

Go Blazers!
