Lower School Service Club School-Wide Plastic Film Recycling Drive and Thank You!
School-Wide Plastic Film Recycling Drive - Tuesday, April 21 - Monday, April 27!
The Bush School is keeping plastic film out of landfills with Ridwell this spring! To participate in this limited-time recycling drive and celebrate Earth Month, bring clean plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to school on Tuesday, April 21- Monday, April 27, and Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills. It’ll be turned into new decking materials instead! Start collecting plastic film at home now so you have a bunch for the drive. Collection bins will be near the Lower School office.

Curious about at-home recycling pickup from Ridwell? They collect hundreds of common household items you can’t recycle curbside, like plastic food packaging, lightbulbs, clothes, Styrofoam, and more. If you sign up for a household membership by Friday, May 22, you’ll also help earn pickup of the school’s plastic film for all of the 2026-2027 school year (when ten new members sign up).

A huge thank you to our wonderful parent and guardian volunteers and students who joined the Lower School Service Club on April 10 in support of Babies of Homelessness. Inspired by our theme, “Be the Change,” students focused on caring, noticing, and taking small steps to support others.
Together, they assembled sixty art kits for families with preschool-aged children. We are especially thankful to our guest speaker, Sarah Hardy, co-founder of Bobbie, who generously donated more than 200 containers of organic baby formula. Students also learned about infant brain and vision development and created high-contrast flash cards to support early growth and development.
As we continue through April, let’s carry this spirit forward by caring for our planet. Join us for our school-wide Plastic Film Recycling Drive, Tuesday, April 21 – Monday, April 27!
