Lower School Music Faculty Juliana Cantarelli Vita
Greetings Bush Lower School Families,
I will be on maternity leave when choir starts, but I'm excited to share that we will have a fantastic musician and educator leading our Lower School program this fall: Carly Toyer (Carly Sparkly is their stage name), whom I have had the pleasure of working with since 2018 as part of the non-profit organization Rain City Rock Camp.
Here's more about them:
Carly Sparkly is an agender musician who fell in love with music via their childhood community choir and their parents' eclectic record collection. After moving from San Diego to Seattle in 2013, they spent nine years teaching voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, and songwriting at Meter Music School. Carly is the current Director of Programs at Rain City Rock Camp. Carly loves salmon nigiri, boogie boarding, and gathering folks around any living room piano for goofy sing alongs.
Please give Carly (they/them) a warm welcome!
The choir will meet twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on Tuesday, October 20, and running through our concert on Thursday, December 17. This program is open to all Third-Fifth Grade students and there is no charge to participate. Students will meet after school from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in the Community Room (unless indicated otherwise).
