The Bush School welcomes new Assistant Athletic Director Diamond Alexander to the Blazer Athletics Department. Diamond brings a versatile background to Bush and now plays a key role in coordinating Middle and Upper School practices and games, as well as working with the Athlete Student Council to uplift the department. Diamond has ten years of experience in various California community colleges, working as both a student worker and an event manager.
She obtained her B.A. in Sociology from California State (Cal State) University Long Beach and her M.A. in kinesiology from California Baptist University in Riverside. She helped the Athletics Department at Santa Barbara City College as an Equipment Director, overseeing fourteen women’s sport teams. Diamond has also served as a Game Manager, Sports Information Director, and Academic Advisor.
After spending the first half of her career in a collegiate setting, she is excited to join a K-12 community. Diamond is a huge fan of women’s sports and loves the Los Angeles Sparks.
"We are very excited to have Diamond on our team,” shared Athletic Director Jo Ito. “She rose to the top of a very deep candidate pool for the Assistant Athletic Director position for all the right reasons. She brings extensive experience, is strongly aligned with our program values, and has a mindset of hard work. Her background as a collegiate student-athlete, combined with her experience supporting student-athletes and managing athletics operations at the college level, gives her a valuable perspective as she steps into this role. We are fortunate to have her on our Blazer team and look forward to seeing her continue to grow into an important leader within our department and school community."
