Bush's Makenna K. ’27 Clinches 1A Girls State Singles Runner-up Title

What a season! Bush’s Makenna K. ’27 finished runner-up in WIAA 1A State Girls Tennis Championship Singles.
 
On Saturday, May 24, at the Yakima Tennis Club, Makenna battled a hard-fought match against Overlake’s Lily Z. ’28 but ultimately fell. Makenna, who earned All-Conference this season, advanced to the championship by winning the opening round, 6-0, 6-1, claiming the quarterfinal match, 6-0, 6-0, and winning the semifinal match 6-1, 6-0.
 
This season Makenna also helped propel the Blazers to the team’s first district team title since 2007.
