This spring Trail Blazing AMP students spent five days in the Methow Valley exploring wooded trails and fields of wildflowers, volunteering at several community events, interviewing local community members, and visiting with Liberty Bell High School students.
The week started when Bush Trailblazers hosted an aide station in the Sunflower Relay, to support racers and Methow Trails, and some of our own marathon and half marathon runners! Bush students participated in a Trashion Show, where recycled materials met the catwalk, a community event hosted by the Confluence Gallery. As the week flew by with more community service and engagement experiences, Bush and Liberty Bell students spent a day together learning about the Methow Headwaters Campaign, to gain insight to current issues that affect the Methow Valley. This AMP experience, based at our new Methow Campus, was designed to begin building intentional relationships between The Bush School students and the Methow Valley community.
