2018 Book Fair a Huge Success

The 2018 Bush Book Fair was a huge success thanks to the dedication and thoughtfulness of Julie Pottinger, P '18 & '22,  and her crew of volunteers! The Bush School receives 15% of net sales from this annual fair, every penny of which goes to financial aid at Bush.

Over three days, the Bush community:
  • purchased $17,391.34 worth of books;
  • donated 305 books to the library and classrooms, worth $4033.83; and
  • donated 110 books to Madrona Elementary, worth $1262.52.
From these sales, $3,478.27 will go to financial aid at Bush this year. Since Julie started organizing the book fair in 2008, she has raised over $69,000 towards financial aid!

Special thanks to Allie Ruettgers P '27 & '29 for building our relationship with Madrona Elementary. Allie connected us with Reading Partners, a non-profit educational organization that works with students reading below grade level at Madrona. Through Reading Partners, we were also able to connect with the Madrona school librarian and many classroom teachers, all of whom gave us their wishlists.

Thank you to our community members who purchased and donated books for this special event. Thank you for investing in our teachers and students.
