Student Film Festival

This May, as part of a senior project by Measles V. ’26 and Dylan S. ’26, students are hosting a student film festival! It will be on Sunday, May 31 from 12:30-3:00 p.m. at Central Cinema. It should be about two hours of film showings, followed by the announcement of the awards and a Q&A with our judges.

This festival aims to showcase the hard work of high school filmmakers and give them recognition on resumes and applications. That is why we are looking for ANY film that you made while in high school that you’re proud of!

Our judges will be Bush alums Ben Weber ’90Ian Andreen ’12, and Dan Brown, who are all established members in the filmmaking industry. There will be five awards, and the event will be a great way to support student work and meet other filmmakers.

How to sign up: Fill out THIS google form with some information about you and your film, and a place to attach your film. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 15. All entries will be reviewed by multiple judges, and awards will be announced during the film festival.

Requirements:
  • Your film cannot exceed ten minutes
  • The film must have been made while you were in high school
  • You may submit more than one film, but they need to be made with different crews. (one film per crew, but not necessarily one film per individual)

Methow Campus and Team Read Book Drive

Ada M. ’26 and Charlie M. ’26's need your help collecting books for their Senior Projects which support Bush Methow Campus and Team Read. The book drive will run from Monday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 27.

How to Donate: There will be boxes in the Lower School on the second floor by the Lost and Found, and in the Lower School and Gracemont libraries. They are looking for gently used books, both for Lower School students, Middle and Upper School students, and adults. They are especially looking for cozy cabin reads, nature-themed books, and books for grades Second through Fifth. The more books acquired, the better the selection on the Methow Campus Team Read. Any leftover books will be donated to the Friends of the Seattle Public Library.
