How to Report Upper School Student Absences

How to Report Student Absences

Reporting illness: If a student is sick and cannot attend school, a parent or guardian must report the absence in order for it to be excused. Contact Sharon Mulvihill, the US Administrative Assistant, as early in the day as possible.
Reporting absence for an appointment: if a student will miss class or community time to attend a medical or other appointment, a parent or guardian must report the absence in order for it to be excused.
  • Call 206-326-7734
  • Alternately, students may report their own absence if they copy their parent/guardian on the email

Full-day absences (non-illness related): If your student will miss a full day of classes for any reason not related to illness (field trip, college visit, etc.), they are required to complete and turn in a Planned Absence Form. This form is available in the US Admin Asst’s office, and also under Forms on the Upper School portal page.

Note that students are responsible for communicating with their teachers regarding any work they miss.
